Searchability - Main Schema

Main Schema: Add Structured Data to Help Search Engines Understand Your Site

The Main Schema tool in Blue Raven allows you to easily apply site-wide Schema Markup, a type of structured data that helps search engines better understand the content and context of your website. By giving search engines clear, standardized information about your business, you improve your chances of being featured in rich results, knowledge panels, and voice search responses.

You can find the tool under:
Tools → Expand Searchability → Main Schema

What Is Schema Markup?

Schema Markup is a type of code (using vocabulary from Schema.org) added to your website’s HTML. It helps search engines understand what your content means rather than just what it says.

For example:

  • A plain string of text like “Contact us at +1 121 123 4567” tells a user how to reach you.

  • With Schema, you can explicitly tell Google: “This is a contact number for sales support, available in English and Spanish, based in Miami.”

This deeper understanding helps search engines serve more relevant results, display rich snippets (like star ratings, business info, operating hours), and even place your content in voice assistants like Google Assistant or Alexa.

Why Schema Markup Matters

  • Improves visibility in search results

  • Supports rich snippets (ratings, FAQs, event times, etc.)

  • Enhances local SEO with clearly defined contact info, service areas, and languages

  • Builds trust and authority by aligning your data with a global standard

  • Future-proofs your site for search features like AI-powered answer engines and voice search

Schema Best Practices

  • Use accurate, real-world information — don’t stuff keywords or misrepresent data

  • Keep fields consistent with the rest of your site (contact details, URLs, etc.)

  • Update schema regularly as your business grows or changes

  • Avoid duplication with plugins or themes that may already output schema; Blue Raven handles this cleanly
